In 1937, the Mendham-Chester Tribune featured several recipes in its pages. They were Souffléed Rice, Spinach Florentine, Cheese Fondu, and Beef Short Cake. A helpful household hint mentioned that brooms would last longer if their bristles were soaked in hot, salty water.
