This Week in Chester History…

In 1961, the Observer-Tribune announced that Bernays Apgar Post Unit 342 of the American Legion members sought cancelled stamps. Auxilliary members also collected coupons and nylons, reminding readers that the container for the stockings was located at the Chester Post Office. Chairperson Elizabeth Apgar said 308 coupons, 11 pounds of nylons, and 3400 stamps were given to the county for the months of October and November.
