This Week in Chester History…

In 1960, Chester Borough and Township withdrew from a 12-year agreement with Mendham Township to share a municipal court located in the Ralston Fire House. Mayor William Conover said the move had been recommended by the Police Study Commission. A separate court would be established to serve the two municipalities. Source: Observer-Tribune
