This Week in Chester History…

In 1990, the Chester Volunteer Fire Department feted three of its volunteers, each of whom have accumulated more than 50 years of lifetime service with the department. More than 150 people attended the dinner at the Chester Fire Hall to honor Chester residents George Thompson and Jack Hoffman, and former Chester resident Arnold Martinez. All three were awarded plaques expressing appreciation for their many years of service to the community from the mayor, the Borough Council, Governor Jim Florio, and President Bush.
