This Week in Chester History…
In 1955, the National Block and Bridle Club bestowed upon Richard McDade of T’Other Farm an honorary membership. It was the first time the honor had been conferred upon a New Jersey cattleman. Previously, it had been awarded to poultry and sheep raisers. McDade was the cattle manager for the Mennen herd of 450 registered Angus cows, and among the first practitioners of artificial insemination. Source: The Mendham-Chester Tribune.
