This Week in Chester History…
The Mendham-Chester Tribune reported in 1937 that 30-year-old Edward Sliker accidentally electrocuted himself as he wrapped a tree with a cable, which fell and touched a high voltage wire. His coworkers helped him down from the tree after he had become unconscious. He was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital with burns on his hands, arms, feet, and legs. He survived the incident.
