This Week in Chester History…

In 1956, a fight between Navarra and Malcolm Campbell, owners of the Crossroads Inn, ended with Malcolm’s death. Navarra told police they had been quarreling in the barroom of the Inn when Malcolm threatened her with a shotgun. After she hid behind the bar, he shot himself in the head. The Chester First Aid Squad rushed him to Morristown Memorial where he died. Source: The Mendham-Chester Tribune.
