This Week in Chester Library History — June 3-9, 1973
During this week in 1973, the Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously that any borrower aged 65 or older, retired, or receiving Medicare benefits would be exempt from Chester Library fines. Additionally, homemakers were invited to join an informal “koffee-klatch” at the Library on Monday mornings from 10 am – 12 pm “for the purpose of comparing and swapping budget-stretching recipes.” Additionally, attendees would be invited to explore the Library’s cookbooks and meal planning guides.
