This Week in Chester History…

The Mendham-Chester Tribune in 1938 announced that Chester would participate in National Air Mail Week. Postmaster Austin Thompson said all air mail leaving town would have a special cachet on it. “A special load of air mail will be taken to Basking Ridge where it will be flown from Somerset Hills Airport to Newark Airport,” said the newspaper.
