In 1955, the Mendham-Chester Tribune announced that the N.J. State Department of Health and local boards of health, in cooperation with the Morris County Tuberculosis and Health Association, would offer a free chest X-ray to each local citizen 18 years and older. The Fire House in Chester hosted the testing.
