This Week in Chester History…

In 1960, Mrs. Frank Carroll, Mrs. George Booker, Mrs. Charles Robert Shaw, and Mrs. J. Holmes attended a leadership training school at Drew University. The Observer-Tribune reported that the school was sponsored by the Synod of New Jersey of the United Presbyterian Church. The attendees from the Chester Community Presbyterian Church intended to become more involved in advanced programs for both day and evening work of the Women’s Association.


This Week in Chester History…

In 1961, the Observer-Tribune reported that Rev. Robert S. Maseroni became the new pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church of Chester. Maseroni served as a radar officer with the U.S. Air Force in Korea, and supervised a Korean orphanage while there. His wife was the former June Leskawa.
