This Week in Chester History…
In 1960, a high-speed crash killed 21-year-old Eamon Fay of Kearny on the Dover-Chester Road. Fay and Michael J. Briscoe (also of Kearny) were driving at approximately 70 mph when the car skidded off the road, then returned to the road and veered 250 ft before hitting and knocking over a utility pole. The car did not stop there, but skidded an additional 20 feet before landing upright against a tree, said Chester Township Police Chief Edward Strait. Source: Observer-Tribune
