The Chester Dramatic Association, also known as the “Second-Nighters Dramatic Club,” held their elections for 1937 at the home of Walter Serbe. Dudley Bragg was elected as president, Justin Russell as vice-president, Ruth Hill as secretary, and Walter Serbe was named as assistant secretary. Treasurer was Mae Call. In the 1937 Society Column, the Mendham-Chester Tribune announced “Wanda Pitney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Pitney of Hacklebarney; Shirley Emmons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Emmons of [Chester Borough]; Jo-Ann Russell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Russell of Chester Township; Doris Apgar, daughter of Mr .and Mrs. Lillie Apgar; Beverly Potts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Potts, Jr., and Mary-Lou Call, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Call, also of Chester, have entered Jane Potts’ School of Dancing.”
